Click IT began as a software company in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. It became the town's IT department because people kept asking for help, and it grew into a group of companies because every kind of help needed its own specialists.
How Click IT came about
It started with a sign by the back door.
Before Click IT, Al Harlow ran a software development company in Chagrin Falls, building web applications with a team of developers and two systems administrators, and servers in a secure facility in downtown Cleveland.
Friends and customers kept asking whether Al's team could help with their computers. Eventually he hung a sign by the back door that said “Computer Repair.”
Repairs turned into something bigger once the team combined them with managed services: fix it, monitor it, and bill for it monthly. A couple of technicians could look after hundreds of devices without leaving their chairs.
What it still needed was a front counter: people who could listen, teach and explain without making anyone feel foolish. So in 2012 Click IT opened on Main Street, in a 19th-century storage room turned into a training center. Screens on the wall show the most-asked-for services with the price and details up front, so customers know what they're buying before they buy it. When the pandemic came in 2020, Click IT stayed open as an essential business.
A family business, at heart.
Click IT has always been a family business. The Harlow family has been part of it since the first storefront, and family still comes first. It’s what we look for in every company, owner and partner who joins the group.

2003 · Computer repair and websites
Al Harlow's first company, iNamics, repairs computers and builds websites for local homes and businesses: the roots of today's repair, website, hosting and e-marketing divisions.
2012 · Click IT opens on Main Street
A Microsoft partner with servers in a secure Cleveland facility, the Chagrin Falls store grows to look after thousands of computers, websites, email accounts and devices.
2018 · Franchising begins
The company store's systems become the Click IT franchise.
2022 · Click IT by Motherboard
Motherboard, Inc. launches our digital agency, now Motherboard Online, and holds the company's intellectual property.
Today · One group
SAM, ClickIT CRM and FaaST let one local store deliver what used to take a whole IT company.
